Deworm one or two weeks after weaning; vaccinate a week later (DA RFO 2).

  • Feed by stage

Grower feed to about 60 kg, then finisher, 2.4–2.8 kg a day in the last month (DA Hog Roadmap). Details: pig feeding guide.

  • Space and water

At 81–100 kg each pig needs at least 0.85 m² and 6–8 litres of water a day (DA AO 41).

  • Track feed per kilo

In 2020 the national average was 3.19 kg of feed per kg of gain; DA’s 2026 target is 2.27 (DA Hog Roadmap).
